About a week ago, right after the Gaston's event, my dad and I went to a "children 16 and under" trout stream called Dry Run Creek, which has huge trout in it. We walked down to the creek -- Dad with his camera and me with my pole, trout net and box of baits. First, I found this little hole full of trout. I could see lots of trout (BIG TROUT), but they could see me to, so of course I didn't catch anything, and I had to pull myself away from big fish that I could see. Not an easy thing to do.
Then I fished in one hole where I saw some fish and had some hits, but no fish yet. Then I moved to the next spot using a Rebel Teeny Deep Wee Crawfish and caught loads of fish, a few of them being really nice trout. I had one rainbow that weighed about 6 pounds get off because my net was too small, which really disappointed me, seeing how big it was. After that I caught a few trout. Then I got a fish that felt like it could be a nice one, but not 6 pounds..................... I was wrong!!! I just caught a glimpse of that big mouth and that big hooked jaw, and got really worried that I would not get it, I got it in reach of the net and tried to get it but it just didn't fit, it broke the line and was just siting there in front of me in the water. I thought it was dead, so I yelled to dad, "It's dead!" But then I got out of shock and tried to net it one more time and it worked!!! After a few photos, the fish swam off looking healthy. That was the biggest rainbow trout I have ever seen.
The creek is open to fishing with barbless, single-hook artificial baits only.
Nice creek!
