My First Big Fish

Because of the loss of my private pond access, I have not been fishing much lately. So I figured I should probably talk about a favorite bait or a special fish I caught, so I think I will talk about my first sort of big fish.

It was on a day that Dad and I were fishing on the Niagara River with guide Frank Campbell. We fished for steelhead, lake trout and possibly other stuff. We were drifting with three-way rigs and Quikfish. All of a sudden one of the rods bent pretty hard, so I picked it up and started my first fight with a fish over 5 pounds. There is a big difference between a 5-pound redfish and a 14-pound lake trout! I didn't know how to fight it, but I got plenty of instructions. Later that day I caught one almost the same size as the first one, so I don't know which one is in the picture!

Looking forward to fishing again!
