Shallow

It looks like the fish in the pond are already moving up shallow! Even though Georgia is in the Deep South, the fish around this part of the state usually don't start moving shallow till around March. But it looks like they have started moving up early this year. I guess that is because of the unusually warm winter weather we have had around here.

When I went fishing last week, I decided to fish a little shallower than I had been because the last couple of times I had fished, the deep-water fishing had really slowed down. So I tied on shallow-water baits and caught fish around the edges of the pond. The fish are still not in really shallow water but they are moving up! I caught most of my fish on a XCalibur Xsc Square Lip crankbait.

Now I just need them to keep moving up, and for the weather to not get really cold!
