One of the Best Days of Fishing

A few weeks ago when I found out that I was going to get the chance to fish the lake at Jimmy Houston's ranch with my dad and some great friends I was extremely excited! Partly because Jimmy Houston is a legendary fisherman and partly because Dad has been there before and told me all about how amazing the fishing is.

After my dad finally was able drag me off the dock (trying to catch big bluegill) the two of us took off in one of Jimmy Houston's bass boats and looked for a good looking area on the lake...which was pretty easy since the whole lake looks good! The fishing after that was probably one of the best days of fishing I have ever experienced. We were catching fish after fish up shallow that were almost all between 2 and 6 pounds. I caught my fish mostly with a Yum Houdini Shad. Dad and I caught about 40 fish in just a few hours. Then, that evening, we enjoyed eating a steak dinner with some great friends.

That was one of the best if not the best day of fish that I have ever had, and I can't really put into words how great it was!
