This, That, The Other Thing...And More to Come

It turns out that when you go for several days of fishing without blogging you have quite a bit of angles you can take on a blog. Since it is to hard to decide what story to go with, I will go ahead and put all the stories of Dad's and my latest trip into one big post.
Dry Run Creek Rainbow

Dry Run Creek

Yes that's right, I got to spend a whole day fishing what is possibly my favorite place to fish in the world. If you don't know about Dry Run Creek just scroll through my blog archives, and it won't be long before you know all about Dry Run! The one thing that was different from my past visits to the creek was that I was able to spend all day fishing! As usual, it produced an abundance of quality fish. I caught most of my fish on a Lindy Watsit Grub and also caught a few on an Xcalibur Twitch Bait.
White River Brown Trout

The White River

There are not a whole lot of places in the country that you can go and be just as wowed by the trout fishing than Dry Run Creek. However the place that I fished the day after fishing Dry Run was one of those places -- that place being the White River. My dad an I fished a day with Donald Cranor, who is an exceptional White River Guide and is one of the most knowledgeable guides on the river. He knows how to catch the big brown trout in any condition on the river!

Beaver Lake
Learning From Brad Weigmann

As my dad said even when you don't catch a lot of fish or a lot of big you can always learn a lot while fishing with Brad Weigmann. I got to learn about several different fishing tactics over the course of the day. Probably what I learned the most from related to how fish boat docks effectively. While fishing the boat docks, I learned about the best ways to rig your bait along with the best way to present it.
Lawrence Taylor With a Nice Striper

The Ilinois River

The good thing about striper fishing is that even when the fish are not in the mood to eat, all you need is to coal a couple of fish to bite to make for a good day. The reason being their brutal fight! Obviously you always prefer to catch more fish. However, catching one sriper is like the fight of catching three largmouth bass or six crappie. Along with the fishing, my dad was able to get some great pictures (one of them being shown above) of a big striper caught by Lawrence Taylor on a Yum Flash Mob Jr.

Get ready! Next week I will be going to Johnson City, Tenn for some more outdoor adventures! I am really looking forward to going on my first squirrel hunt and some great stream fishing!....I will try to update my blog more frequently this time....
