Black's Camp

I got to spend my 15th birthday at one of my favorite places in the country -- Black's Camp in Cross, South Carolina. Black's is a fish camp right off of the canal of Santee Cooper. Santee Cooper is definitely a premiere place to catch fish, but that is not the only reason it is one of my favorite places to be. I also really like that the whole atmosphere around Black's is built around the lake and more specifically about the fishing in the lake. Along with that, it is a great place to experience great Southern hospitality and some awesome Southern cooking!

We spent most of our fishing time drifting the canal for catfish, which, by the way, is one of the most fun ways to catch catfish that I have experienced in my life! In the video above you can see longtime Santee Cooper guide and co-owner of Black's Camp Kevin Davis talking about how we where catching the catfish. Thank you to Kevin Davis for making our trip to Santee Cooper possible and for taking Dad and I fishing out on the lake!
