I was a little bit disappointed when I realized that my dad and I where going to be in Louisiana for several days, but were only going to be fishing for one of those days. Because Louisiana has some of the most amazing fishing in the country and because Louisiana is a long ways from northeast Georgia. But I was thankful for the one day that we had to fish, and I planned to make the most of it. We spent our day fishing Lake Calcasieu for redfish and trout with our guide Bryan Branch. We were fishing birds (finding the fish by watching seagulls dive), which was something that I had never done before. It was really fun fishing, and it was awesome fishing with a guide who was so knowledgeable about the technique. The catching fish part was pretty amazing too. We caught dozens of trout and a few nice redfish.
So although it was only one day of fishing, it was also a full day of learning. And really the fish we caught on one day of fishing Lake Calcasieu where probably equal to 3 days of fishing in most places!
