Nantahala Adventure

Dad and I had a really fun time for the past two days fishing at the Nantahla River with our good friend TJ Stallings. The fishing was slow for the first few hours on Monday but once we got to about 1:30 in the afternoon the fishing was on!

For me the most interesting thing about the fishing was that almost all of our fish came from one little area. We fished most of the spots that you can get to easily on that section of the river before TJ found this spot. We visited the spot about four times over the course of the trip and probably caught at least 40 brook, rainbow, and brown trout from it.

Most of the fish we caught were on black 32nd ounce Road Runner jigs. And although we caught fish using a lot of different presentations, most of them ate when we let the jigs swing in the current.
